WORKS CITED
A Works Cited page is the final page of your paper. It does not count towards the page minimum. A paper without a Works Cited page WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!
You are required to have 5 sources. Only one source may be a website (.com, .org, etc.). You may use as many articles from databases (EBSCO, GALE, etc.) as you choose. You may also use book sources. Please do not use online encyclopedias as a source.
KEY REMINDERS:
Double space the entries
Hanging indent
Alphabetize by the first letter of each entry
List ONLY works that have been cited in your paper. Do not include works you looked at but did not use (this would only be done in a Works Consulted page).
Each of these cites will walk you through creating a Works Cited page. Please note: online articles found from EBSCO, GALE, etc. need to have the database cited as well.
MLA GUIDELINES (HEADERS/TITLE/PAGE NUMBERS/FONT)
Do not make a title page for your paper unless specifically requested.
In the upper left-hand corner of the first page, list your name, your instructor's name (Mrs. Graff), the course (CP10 English), and the date. Again, be sure to use double-spaced text.
Double space again and center the title. Do not underline, italicize, or place your title in quotation marks. Your title needs to be more than just your person's name. Be creative!
Double space between the title and the first line of the text.
Create a header in the upper right-hand corner that includes your last name, followed by a space with a page number; number all pages consecutively with Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3, 4, etc.), one-half inch from the top and flush with the right margin.
Type your paper on a computer and print it out on standard, white 8.5 x 11-inch paper.
Double-space the text of your paper, and use Times New Roman. The font size must be 12 pt. Set the margins of your document to 1 inch on all sides.
